TIME'S UP NOW
Before the carpet was laid and the seating confirmed, there was a battle cry that could be heard; an awakening of sorts.
The TIME'S UP NOW Legal Fund launched this past week with vast support from top women in the industry. Many celebrities and attendees of the Golden Globes opted to wear black in solidarity with the many women across the country fighting against a lack of gender parity, representation, equal pay, and hostile environments ripe with abuse and harassment.

THE INCOMPARABLE OPRAH WINFREY
Oprah Winfrey received the Cecil B. DeMille Award making her the first Black woman to receive the honor. In her speech, she discusses the impact of seeing Sidney Poitier receive the Best Actor Golden Globe award as young girl, gave stage to the story of Recy Taylor, celebrated the women who are speaking up, and made a call to action for all to truly be invested in creating a world where no one needs to say #metoo. She reverberated the theme of the night, #timesup.
